iPhone iOS 6 update
This new mobile operating system became available at 1800 tonight for owners of the iPhone 3GS (and later), and iPad. If updating via your PC/Mac or Wirelessly - be prepared the u/g can take up to 45 minutes to complete.
You will see the d/l bar move pretty swiftly as the new firmware loads, but after a restart this bar reappears and sits doing nothing for 35 minutes - don't panic.
It will complete, but the bar does not move until the last few minutes!

Some functions in my iPhone 4 now appear a little faster with iOS6. For example, typing a text message seems more responsive.ringo_24601 wrote: »I've updated my ipad2. It now appears a bit slower0 -

I've often found when you update older products with newer iOS's they gradually become slower.
When I update my 3GS to iOS 6 it became incredibly slow so I'm not bothering this time (especially as the iPhone will be arriving on my doorstep on Friday!)
I'm in 2 minds whether to update my iPad 2 now :undecided:beer: Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0 -

Having just done my iPad 3, I've got Siri for the first time - what fun! If anything, the speed of iOS 6 on this device is superbly fast, less so on my iPhone 4, but that's going to be recycled next week!

My only minor issue post upgrade is my email stopped syncing. Solution is to delete and reset up the account. I use IMAP on Virgin Media so POP or other ISP people users may fare better after a IOS5 to IOS6 update.0

Just updated... Not so much of a fan of the Maps and sorta missing the Youtube app already, but there will be no doubt Google apps later.
My WiFi wouldn't stay connected at all since the update. Fixed by going into WiFi > hitting the blue arrow to the right of my router name and changing the HTTP Proxy to Auto.
Hope that helps anyone else who has the issue it seems fairly common when I search it online.0
