Did anyone use to have one of those Dymo(?) plastic tape labellers years ago?

I notice that it's mostly all black on white labels...do you get white on black too or am I wanting too much now?

I have the first one shown above and they come with many options:
Clear Label - Black, White, Red or Blue print
White Label - Black, Red or Blue print
Black Label - White Print
Blue Label - Black Print
Red Label - Black Print
Yellow Label - Black Print
Green Label - Black Print
Then you have (at least) 12mm x 3m, 12mm x 7m, 9mm x 7m tape cassettes.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Oh heck I'm in OCD heaven.

I don't really have OCD but I do like things organised well.
I have white boxes and black boxes depending on whether the contents are house related or person related. I'd like to have both black and white labels. I'm so sad. :rotfl
Thank you all very much for the help. :beer:Herman - MP for all!

I had a small plastic yellow thing, you fed the plastic (?) thin tape in one side and rotated the big front dial to select whatever letter you wanted then you clicked the machine and the letter would be embossed on the tape, You rotated and clicked until you had your label, you peeled the back off and stuck it to whatever.

My dad had one that he used to label the VHS cassette cases with (big fan of recording films off the TV)
Memories!
I now have a Brother P-Touch 1000 that I got from Lidl (as another poster mentioned
) for about £10-15 and it works like a dream. Can get the tape cassettes all over the 'net  "Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

I remember the original ones!
Because the plastic came on a roll, there was often a 'curve' to the printed label, and as someone else has said, it was useless glue so the label often failed to stick down properly.
It was ace if it did work properly, though!0 -
Depends on what you want to pay? They range from around £8.99 and up.

I have the second one and it's great. The tape is waterproof so I use it to label food in the freezer.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0 -
Who knew there was so much demand for such diverse labelling?;)0

You can print the labels on ordinary paper and laminate them. Either laminate as a sheet then cut them up, or cut the paper labels first, put them inside the laminating pouch with gaps between them, heatseal, then cut up and each label will have a sealed laminate border round it.
Smaller labels 'laminate' perfectly well with inch-wide Sellotape.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
I had one, used to be good for doing labels for the sides of your cassette tape boxes lol.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -
I use chalk pens for labelling almost everything. £5 from WHsmiths and lasts ages. Specially excellent for wine, demigods, jamjars, plant pots, and for writing 'what we have for sale' on boards at school. You can get coloured ones from Staples. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
