Average utility bill costs

I am looking to live on my own either in my own rented single room property, or to buy my own one bedroom flat or small house.
Can anyone advise what the current utility bill costs are, I have never had to do this myself as I have always been in shared housing where the main owner sorted all this.
I am mainly looking for Water Gas and Electric, but any help or advice would be gratefully received.
Thank you

Costs can vary hugely depending on the size of the property, the presence of any insulation, the method of heating and what temperature you find comfortable in the depths of winter. Gas cental-heating is cheaper to run than electricity.
As a rough rule-of-thumb I would budget £30 a week as an absolute minimum in winter.
Don't forget Council tax which could be up to another £100 a month depending on area and band.0 -
Thank you bitter.
Any other help would be really appreciated. I am only looking for rough costs so I can guage what I need to do.0 -
gas + electric : £30 - 40 pw
water : £5 - 10 pw
council tax : check cost for Band D or E with your council (you'll get 25% single person discount)
phone/broadband : £12 - £30 pm
buildings insurance : £10 pm
contents insurance : £10 pm0 -
There have been many threads on this, it is worth running a search. As BitterandTwisted says the bills vary enormously depending on the insulation and your personal habits. Electric heating and hot water are massively more expensive than gas, most modern flats are electric heating. Power showers use a ridiculous amount of water, if you like lengthy showers you could be using the equivalent of several deep fill baths!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Mine for a 3 bed mid-terraced house (per month, 2 people):
Council tax - £104 (10 months);
Gas & elec - £40;
Buildings & contents insurance - £15;
Water - £25;
Phone/TV/Internet - £48.0 -
I have a one bedroom flat. Electric (no gas on the property) £46 a month, water £20 a month.It's someone else's fault.0
