Ceramic hob in new build

Hi all, not sure if this is the right place or not..
I have recently bought a new build flat and am just in the process of doing my snagging list!
I have noticed the ceramic hob is ridiculose in terms of scratching. I have grown up with my mom always having a ceramic hob so not a new thing to me! I was cooking some pasta tonight and the pan slightly boiled over...moving it and wiping the water with a tea towel..has left scratches in the hob....I don't understand why and how. When I lived at my moms I boiled pans over all the time....not for fun I might add just not a great cook and it never left any marks that a bit of hob Brite wouldn't shift.
Close inspection looks as if the polish layer has scratched off....surely this shouldn't happen within a week of living there??
It's also not like I left the overspill to burnon....I mopped it up straight away.
Does anyone have any advice...is this a problem with the hob and therefore something to report the builder?

My ceramic hob is about 7 years old now - not a scratch on it. Sounds like a dud.
But if this is a new build I assume it's a new hob so should have
a) a manufacturer's warranty (one year)
b) a ' fit for purpose' retailer's warranty0 -
Is it a ceramic or induction hob? Do you mean the pan base or the cleaning product are leaving marks? Are you using the cleaning product recommended by the manufacturer? My parents' old ceramic hob was hell for scratching and keeping clean: they used to cover the parts they were not using with newspaper!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
