Hi,
I have a Very debt that NDR is collecting, but I want to offer a settlement amount and clear it - does anyone know if NDR accept settlement amounts and how low an offer could be?
If NDR don't accept settlement amounts, does anyone know if it's worth me stopping payments in the hope that they sell it on to a Debt Collection Agency who WILL accept a reduced settlement amount??
Do NDR have a certain DCA that they sell debts on to and do they then add on their own charges before even writing to you??
Thanks!0 -

Having dealt with NDR, they are a nightmare.
Just stop paying them, they will soon sell it on.
Capquest are one DCA they sell to, but at least at that point charges stop.
Complain to NDR in writing about adding unfair charges etc, it will encourage them to sell it faster.
Good luck

Thanks for replying happy_bunny!
I did complain at the start but then continued to pay as I thought it best!
However, I'm now in a position to pay this off but obviously want to save myself as much as I can.
Is it a given that you can always negotiate a decent settlement with a DCA, and so worth defaulting with NDR? I wouldn't like to take it that far and then have to pay the full amount to the new DCA, or only get like 20% off?
I'm really torn about what to do.
Thanks again.0 -
Hi,
Unsure why they are adding interest, as most catalogues sell interest free, were the item/items bought on an interest bearing deal ? I know they add charges for late payment, from my experience they usually sell accounts on after 8-12 months of non payment, mine both went to Lowell, one was written off as they could not produce any paperwork/evidence, the other I am still negotiating with them, Lowells are !!!!!s, others are usually capquest or such like.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. My account was sold to Capquest but at that point a default was put on my credit score so I would avoid this happening where possible if I was you.Pay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!0

If its sold, you will get a default.
If you want to pay it, write to them, and ask them if you pay in full, what will your credit file be marked as. I know it will be settled, it's just whether its Kate payment markers, arrangement, or default.
What's it say on there now?

Hi, Im with NDR for Littlewoods and Very accounts. They stopped all interest and charges whilst I pay them £5 per month as I can't afford anymore. I had to give all my financial details to them, but at least the debts won't go any higher. Its worth asking them.0
