Glastonbury!!!!!!!

Not to brag but me and my 15 mates all managed to get tickets for glastonbury!
I was up at 9am with 3 phones and several internet browsers trying to get through. After an hour of not getting through i get a call that a friend of a friend has some 'magic computer' that can get through everytime and he got us all tickets! I had to check that it wasn't an april fools joke, but this guy is reliable!

Does anyone know how this might have happened?
Did anyone use the so called back doors on ebay?
Did anyone get through the old fashoned way?

It would also be good if any seasoned glastonbury goers could could give useful hints to newbies like me.

It seemed like once you had got through to the order form, you could get back into it as many times as you wanted with no problems. I did after an hour and a half and got my tickets and some for a few other people that couldn't get through as well.
Also, the festival website https://www.glastonburyfestivals.com is great, and has a really active message board as well with loads of hints and tips. You're going to have an amazing time, enjoy it!

we didnt get through even though we had 4 phones and the web

Im absolutely devastated. Me and my fiancee met at glastonbury in 2005, and this year its our 2nd anniversary. It means the world to both of us to go this year, and its unlikely to happen now. Ive even been so completely UN MSE Ive been considering us spending 6k on the campkerala just so we can go. OH says this is silly and we can do something else but he doesnt know what would compare either :(

Just thinking about it now is making me tearful

Take loads of loo roll!!! thats my best tip! I go every year, and loo roll and baby wipes are two of lifes essentials. Oh, and take loads of sun cream. And find the Hare Krishna tent cause they give out free vegetarian meals!
Its not as good these days in my opinion, its way too commercialised, and full of middle class sixth formers. Back in the day (feels old!) you could spend hours watching the crusties with their dogs getting lathered on home brew cider... But its still alright....
You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

I actually called the 0870 number to confirm my booking and was told that there are still loads of tepees left, okay they work out at £250 pp and u need 6 people but it might be an option. Other than that don't forget about the reselling of failed transactions (on the 22nd i think) its definately worth a try.

I really hope you get in!

thanks rich! Sorry Im feeling pretty emotional today!!!

Given its our anniversary, we dont want to share a tipi ;) and we dont think we know anyone who wants to come in with us

PLEASE PM ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMING INTO A TIPI WITH US, we are happy to pay for the tipi share and camp in our own tent which I believe we can do! We have the money ready to go and just need other 4 people to share with

Otherwise please please send us happy vibes and fingers crossed for the 22nd.

I dont usually gravitate into holidays section here as its something we generally cant afford, but actually came here to post a new topic saying where can we go tyhats not glasto, but is abroad and is lovely on the same date. But I cant give up yet!!!

I'd definately put that on the Glastonbury website forum, can't imagine anyone turning that down!

Hi lynzpower. I'm sorry you feel that way about the festival message boards, I've never noticed any real problems there but don't spend a great deal of time on them. However, there are quite a few people looking for others to share tipi's with them, and there are also a few people on ebay (not selling) looking for people to share. Well worth a look, I'd have been gutted if I'd missed out too. Other than that, there is always the re-sale on the 22nd but I don't think I'd rely on that.

there is no such thing as a back door but according to an IT minded guy i know it is probably something to do with what server your internet is on. if you are in london it will be CRAMMED but if you are in scotland in the middle of nowhere and somehow also have broadband then you get through no problems.

A fantastic money saving tip used to be the old 'dig a hole under the fence' - 'slip the security guard a tenner (if caught)' trick.
But sadly i think those days went a few years back.

I don't even bother trying to get tickets these days (for most events), it seems like the ticket servers are always down and there only seems to be about 3 companies that get all the tickets.
