Both airports have regular trians in london taking 40mins or so. Stansted has the benifit of the Stansted Express which is faster but more costly. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

Luton airport does not have its own railway station so there is a connecting bus and then the train from Luton station. Where do you want to go in London? It might be that the journey is simpler from one airport than the other.0

You may wish to consider British Airways, who fly Glasgow - London City. You're then only a DLR/tube ride from wherever you need to be.0

By talking Luton / Stansted, we're talking low cost, which flights into City won't be, but the above poster is correct if money is not an issue.
People may say Stansted, but the train (nicknamed the Stansted Slow) is rubbish and viciously overpriced.
Once you have got the bus from Luton Airport to Luton Airport Parkway Train Station (5 mins) you can get a train to Kings X in 30 mins, Farringdon, City, London Bridge a few minutes later on Thameslink (First Capital Connect I think it's called). Plus you have 24 hour train service.
So against the grain, i'd say Luton.0 -
Depends if time or cost is your driver. Luton and the easyBus to Baker St (booked in advance) if cost is the main issue. Otherwise train from either airport will take about the same amount of time but take you to Kings X from Luton or Liverpool St or Tottenham Hale from Stansted, so pick based on where you are actually going.0

Whereabouts in London to you want to go to? The Stansted train also stops at Tottenham Hale for the Victoria tube line.

BTW with https://www.ba.com if you select LON as your destination, it will show all flights to Heathrow, Gatwick and London City Airports.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

Warming: I've had to queue up for 10-15 minutes at luton airport for a bus to the train station. You have to factor this in as well. It should be okay in summer but imagine having to do this in mid winter!!!!0 -
