BT Refund if Cancelled due to Price Rise

Ive paid in advance for a years BT line rental.

If I cancel my BT Contract due to the price increase, will I get a pro-rata refund on that line rental?

Since joining them, Ive found their customer service to be one of the worst Ive ever encountered so if I get the chance I'll be off like a shot.

  • Yes.

And you should not have to pay any cancellation fees.

Contact the BT Cancellations Team and take notes of everything that is said.

I cancelled with BT a couple years ago for the same reason,no money was due back to me,but they still tried to charge me £22 cancellation fee (phone only) even tho I was told the would be no fee.I refused to pay it.

No - the advance payment is not refundable if this was a deal for discounted line rental. This is clearly stated in the T&C's profited prior to accepting the arrangement. They aR allowed to increase their charges, so the increase is not an automatic release mechanism unless they voluntarily agree to waive it.

Provided they are not asking for more money for the year already bought

Will I be refunded any of my Line Rental Saver payment if I leave BT?"

No, your Line Rental Saver payment is non-refundable.

They're not - it has been prepaid. However the other charges for bundles - which are not prepaid (like the increased connection charge for non-bundled calls) will increase to the revised rate.
