Is it OK re-visit a house once your offer has been accepted?
I made an offer on a house last week and it was accepted . I'm a FTB and happy with location and the house. However, I feel I have rushed things a little and would really like to give the wiring in the house a second look. I have a friend that is an electrician and will be able to advise on the condition of it. It's got an update circuit breaker box but who's to know whether it has been wired into old wiring.
The furniture is up for neotiation too and it would be good to look at things again so I can prepare for the move.

That's what I thought. I will arrange to have another look. Even a full buildings survey doesn't look into the electrics in any sort of depth.0

Yes - I would be very suspicious of a vendor that didn't let you revisit. Obviously you will need their permission for what you want to do or look at though, as it's still their house for now.
A revisit is a good opportunity to measure the alcoves and check your furniture fits...0 -
The last time i sold, after the young couple had agreed they came back a few times. First with her parents then again with his parents and a couple of times just to check measurements if their new things were going to fit. If you can take a camera ( phone one will do ) and tape measure and take a few photos and measure up the room sizes ( dont forget the details from the EA gives might not be right Room measurements )
Compass will give the garden direction South facing is best for sunshine.
Count how many sockets, light fittings etc0 -
Thanks for advice. Looking at the electrics is certainly an area I want to look at in more depth. One hopes that the new fusebox hasn't just been wired up to outdated wiring .0

We visited our house a load of times once we made an offer. We even went past it with my family and my sisters family while on an after dinner stroll to show them where we were going to live and the previous owners saw us and invited us in for a toot round, all 10 of us.0

Definitely you can - and should - go back. We had a second viewing after having our offer accepted, and a couple more visits after that (mind you, it did take four months from offer to completion so those visits were spread over a fair period of time!).0

I went for a second viewing before offering, along with viewing several more for the first time that day, and then offered on the place we are trying to buy now (only offered last week). I have already booked another viewing for the 5th September so that I can go there with a decorator and get him to quote me on the work. I also want to measure up the place for curtains, etc. It is a vacant property, so I am bothering the agents more than the vendor but I need to get these things done now because my husband is going away at the time of potential completion and I will have a tight schedule.Grab life by the balls before it grabs you by the neck.0
