BOE's Charlie Bean could stay on past retirement

We can't even get rid of them when they were supposed to go!
If this is the case, can see Merv staying on too, as the government face the challenge of finding "the right person for the job".
What amuses me, is one of the people likely to take a seat in the BOE is an FSA Chairman....after all the FSA shortcomings!
Anyway, seems that the status quo may not be changing for some time yet. Reading between the lines, the government wan'ts more QE, and have to find the right people to do it....if neccesary, keeping those who want QE the most in place.

Whether the government want him to stay or not I would imagine that old Merv is counting the days down till his retirement. The chances are that things could take a turn for the worst with the economy before they get better. Europe can make as many press statements it's wants about doing everything to keep the Euro on track, doesn't change the fact that the Euro train is trying to head down a track that hasn't been built yet. The resulting fall out could affect us all and that's just one of the worlds problems. ..er.. I hate to be pedantic (he lied)... but...
Either they are glove puppets, or they are string puppets. Punch & Judy tend to be glove puppets, like Sooty and Sweep.
