Is any one else having issues with the latest update?
I have an hp laptop running on vista , and when the latest updates came on Tuesday my pc black screnned and i had to restart it.
It hasn't been right since. I have trouble booting the start up sreen and i have tried syatem restore and as soon as shut down the update start aagain which seem to take an hour and i then have the problems with booting up windows all over again.
Is this just me or is anyone else having trouble?

The update was ok for me (W7 and Vista). If you think Windows Update is messed up and you're able to, you could try a reset of Windows Update (components).

I did an update earlier and my display complained it was an invalid resolution. It turned out it had set the frequency to 59 Hz (not 50 or 60), but I set it back to 60 and that was it sorted.0

Its funny you mention this as I have had no recent issues with my current PC but only tonight I got home from work and there was an alert telling me some windows updates had downloaded, opened firefox and it froze right up. eventually got to the desktop and could do nothing so turned off and on again and just stuck at welcome screen.
Currently having to do a system restore as it is the only option available right now.
Coincidence? Maybe.0 -
I had very similar problems with a Vista SP2 machine. Bluescreened a couple of times, then wouldn't boot at all. Had to System Restore then the updates downloaded again. Firefox seemed particularly badly affected, freezing regularly then locking up the whole computer. I went into Firefox 'Help - Troubleshoot' and did a restore from there which gets rid of all addons and extensions but keeps bookmarks etc. Fingers crossed but all seems OK now. I suspect those updates have taken exception to something in Firefox.0

I got rid of Firefox months ago. It used to be one of the best Browsers around but i think the developers left and it just got so slow.
I am now using Google Chrome and i have all my bookmarks from Firefox added on to Chrome.0 -
I noticed that after this latest update, my screen resolution and aspect ratio had changed.
Seems that I now have 1680 available when previously the best was 1360.
The picture was vertically stretched, so managed to correct that and all is well.
I had not connected the changes with the updates but, clearly, that is the cause.0 -

?
The issue has nothing to do with firefox, I only mentioned it to explain what I had done before it went.
Each to their own, for me firefox is the most convenient and fastest browser to use. The latest IE has improved threefold but still doesn't cut the mustard.0 -
