g/f cant get loan???? advice
Ok recently we sold our car and my girlfriend cleared everylast penny of her debts leaving couple of k left so she is completely debt free now bar our mortgage!!!! i personally only have 1k worth of debts so im not exactly debt ridden! my g/f earns 14.5k year and i earn around 32k year!! now problem is i took out a loan for my parents which they pay of course so i cannot take out a loan for a new car for us!!! so my girlfriend is going solo in an attempt to borrow some cash....... we have around 3k left from our previous car and was after 7.5k as a top up but so far she has been declined 3 times by 3 different firms..... what we are struggling with is why as both of us have really good credit ratings and my girlfriend has never even missed/or had late payment on anything, she has not even got an overdraft as she never goes into the 0-!!! can anybody give any advice why!!! we can only think she is asking for too much!!

what are your debts?0

Has she checked her credit report? Do the old loans show as paid off?
If not, the potential lenders may be worried about affordability.
Saving up or buying a cheaper car could be the next step.
Why did she pay off loans when she needed to borrow again?0 -
I think asking for £7,500 when she only earns £14,500 is the issue.0

she has no debts well we both share a mortgage but i pay it not her!!!!!! so all she pays a month is water/electric/tv/house insurance.... thats about it she has no credit card debt or loans outstanding!!!
reason she paid things off to borrow again is she owed few hundred quid on couple of credit cards and 1350 on an old loan, so when we sold the car we paid off all her outstanding debts so she owes NOTHING! and then we decided just having one single loan between us would be ok but she cant get it!!!
to be honest we did only clear all of her stuff withing last few weeks so maybe somethings are still showing up possibly!!!
she also rang hsbc credit rating thing and guy said her credit rating was good but she is possibly askan borrowing for too much!!!!
thing is how do you know how much you can borrow as you apply and you get denied?????? the monthly payments we could afford very easily!!0 -
If you can't get a loan just buy a cheaper car, there's no reason to take out money to spend that much on a car that will loose so much in value.
We just bought a 1993 Toyota MR2 jap import for £560 and I'm in love with it.£2012 in 2012 member #15: £651.55/£20120 -

May well be the cause of the issue, try lowering your expectations and ask for a lower amount, no need to borrow 7.5k for a car when you can still get cars that are as good for less.the monthly payments we could afford very easily!!
Lol this comes up alot0 -
They already have £3k, so the £7.5k is to add, I think, for a car that osts £10,500.0

why does it come up alot?????? after we have paid all bills/mortgage etc as a couple we have around 1500-2k expendable cash so i think £160 is not a huge dent in our disposable cash!!!!!!!
debts question sorry have you not read the post she dont have any debts! except the mortgage which i pay anyways!! we owe 98k on a 120-130k house with 21 years remaining!
and we already have 3k to put towards a car but want to top it up with some more for a better car and we need something doing to the house for around 2k.
and if i want to!!!!!!!!! and ???????? i will dont like it dont reply matey ;-)0
