Just been sent this from o2:
(On legacy package)
We’ve scrapped the 8MB speed limit on your Home
Broadband. So, now it can go as fast as your line supports.

Are you LLU, ADSL or ADSL2?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Any actual improvement in speed?
Have a look at your router line stats to check.

LLU
Get the impression this is for all (not just me personally):

I had the same email today, on an LLU legacy tariff.
But my actual speed increased over 3 weeks ago (from 7.1Mbps to about 9.6Mbps). Which is more than I've always understood the line could support.
More than happy with 02 at present, especially with the 6m free retention deal, which means a monthly equivalent of £4.75.
Slightly surprised by this, as I thought 02 wanted to move people off the legacy tariffs? No free lunch, and no free laptop

There is probably another reason for doing it. My IP address range has changed completely.0 -
O2 LLU use the BE network. BE are rolling out a new network (to be IPv6 ready, for one thing, and to improve resilience). It is probable that you have migrated to the new network.

Did you (or they) upgrade the firmware in your router, or adjust settings? (VPI/VCI change from 0/101 to 0/102 for the new network).0 -
Could you post the stats from your router please as my sky speed increased about 3 weeks ago and i notice they have lowered the noise margin on my connection.0

Can't see these figures using a standard log in. Do I need to sign in as Super Admin?0 -
No idea about the O2box sorry. With my Bebox I simply login as Administrator; the default password is the serial number of the box.0

VPI/VCI is not on shown within the ADMIN login.0
