Q. what is the difference between 'dressage' and dancing bears?

A. One is practised by the English Upper Classes, and the other was banned many years ago

One is carried out by bears and the other by horses, I think that is the main difference, I'm surprised that you didn't notice yourself.

I agree with the laws against bear dancing. It's just a red rag to the bulls. It's going to be very difficult to stop though given the current crop of house price stats.

I too agree with those laws and as a warning to others I would risk my freedom to impose punishments on those that would hurt animals (especially dogs).

A question more noted for general interest than for economic significance. But given that it 'bear-baited' macaque from behind the woodwork, it can't be bad.

Practiced by the Upper Classes it may be. But also by the more normal classes. Mrs Loughton Monkey is often to be found attempting to execute a Flying Change, a Piaffe, or Extended Gate down the road in Chigwell. I much prefer to stay at home and sip a large gin & tonic, while reviewing the latest house price increases in this area....

It is a symptom of our perverse legal system that we allow a horse, burdened by a rider, to dance to Elgar at the London Olympics (and win a gold medal as it happens) whereas to try this with a bear would be positively illegal.

It is also a similarly perverse, and ironic, that legally, I am not able to cast any aspersions against people of an alternative sex, sexual inclination, or nationality. These are all 'nice' people - to a man [or woman].

However, it is not illegal to cast aspersions upon those who are uneducated enough to believe that houses are not worth investing in. We can say what we like.....

    Let's go.........

    No problem.

Don't worry. You'll wake up in the morning and feel your old self again....

Bullish, optimistic, and (like your picture) as hot as a freshly f****d fox in a forest fire....

Late sailing result from the Olympics.

The UK took the Gold; The USA took Silver, and Somalia took a couple from Weymouth.

Surely the difference between dancing bears and dressage is that you get a medal in the dressage. Perhaps that is a way of bringing the anti and pro-dancing bear groups together, give out medals.

Apparently the main Somali hope for gold was ruined once it was discovered that saling and shooting were separate sports.
