Booking on a credit card

Does anyone know if there are any advantages of booking a holiday on a credit card as opposed to a debit card?

Some credit card issuers give you free travel insurance if you pay for the whole holiday on their card. Also if the company you've paid goes bust or turns out to be involved in fruadulent activity then you can claim the money back from your CC.

I'll give you a potential disadvantage!

If you book with an ATOL bonded company, all your credit card is providing another method of protecting you, you are in effect 'double bonded'.

Except you most likely had to pay 2% extra for the protection you already had through ATOL.

So, save yourself yourself 2% if the company is ATOL bonded, pay by cheque or debit card.
