Childrens passports - need to renew ?

Shortly after our daughter was born, we got her a passport. Her photo in her current passport was taken at age 6 months.

We plan to go away this summer. She will be two and a half, and of course looks very different to how she did when she was 6 months old.

My question is, should we get her a new passport because of this, or are the various passport checkers not too fussed about babies appearance in passports?

The last thing I want to do is turn up at Heathrow, and find we are not allowed to board as they think the passport is not her.

I have emailed the passport office but have heard nothing.

Her passport is valid for five years and will have an expiry date on it, Only after then will you have to replace it. I don`t look too much like mine after nearly 10 years and that was before the photos were "mistreated" before they were put in the passport.

I got my sons passport when he was about 3 months old and travelled without a problem on it till he was 5. Should be no reason to renew it.
