Best unsecured loan for average/good credit rating?

Hi, I'm looking for a suitable unsecured loan (£3000 over 3 or possibly 5 years). I've checked with Experian and they say I have a "good" credit rating. However, I have been turned down for a loan a couple of times in the last few months, I have a reasonably high amount of credit (although lower than it used to be, certainly) and I have been late with three credit card payments in the past six months.(These are the only times I have ever been late with any form of payment). Understandibly, I think this is why I've been turned down. I don't want to keep applying and getting knocked back therefore further affecting my credit rating, so can anybody recommend a decent loan company/bank that will give me a reasonable chance of getting the loan, given my credit history?
Thanks in advance!

All i can suggest is cut back on your spending, get rid of non essentials and save up what you need.
