my wife and i are moving to Derby and would like your opinions on the best places to live within 5 miles of the city?

Our budget will be upto £215k.

Conditions:
- ideally village/small town
- easy access to Derby
- within 5 miles

We have no children so schools are are not an issue.
Your suggestions are welcome

Derby is a small city so is easy to get around but obviously there are areas where the traffic is more congested!

The North of Derby tends to be more expensive - 5 miles from the City Centre would take you within easy reach of Little Eaton, Duffield, Allestree, Darley Abbey

To the West you might look at Brailsford, Radbourne, Mickleover, Mackworth Village

To the East, you would be heading towards Nottingham. Maybe look at West Hallam, Spondon, Smalley, Morely, Horsely, Ockbrook and Risely.

Towards the south, Aston on Trent, Weston on Trent, Elvaston, and a bit further out, Melbourne, Kings Newton

Ultimately your budget will be key - 215k will buy a lot in some areas, hardly anything in others :)

Let me know if you need any more details or help
