Mortgage

My wife and I have recently been trying to get a mortgage for our self build, however my credit history wouldn't be the best but my wife has perfect credit. We spoke to a mortgage advisor who told us that she would be able to get us a mortgage. She came back to me and said that we have been turned down due to my CCJs! I don't have any CCJs but it turns out a person with a similar spelling name as mine and DOB has got CCJs and that I need to do a disassociation to them but don't know how to go about this can anyone advice please as this will affect me in future.

I'm not very knowledgeable about this but I think you need to view your credit history with the three main companies (creditexpert, experian and equifax) and see if it's all correct. If it's not, which you suspect it isn't and that you are linked to a person who isn't you, then you need to write to all three pointing out these errors. I think it needs to be done in writing but their websites might give you more info. I don't think it's a quick solution but it should be a thorough and permanant one.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
