Am I entitled to a refund for poor quality goods?

What: a pram & matching car seat package
When: April 2012 for my baby who was born on 26 April.
Where: mamas and papas shop in Glasgow and was paid for by cash (£728). I have the receipt and they have an electronic record of my purchase.
Problems:
I have had the car seat covers replaced three times due to excessive bobbling on the material.
The pram chassis (wheels) is now steering like a supermarket shopping trolley and the material of the pushchair has started bobbling after a week of use. Some of the metal fixings on the chassis have rusted.
I contacted the head office and asked for a full refund or the option to select a different model of pram.
Their response:
They are offering a fourth set of replacement covers in a different colour (if I wanted that colour I would have bought it).
I should return the chassis to the store (16miles away) where it will be inspected and if needed, will be returned to the head office for repair. They may not be able to provide a replacement while mine is being repaired.
From them: "I understand that you would prefer to have a replacement product/refund as opposed to a repair, however our after sales policy clearly states that if a product develops a manufacturing defect within the guarantee period we will repair it free of charge. We can not, therefore, agree to your request for a refund/replacement at this time."
Do I have the right to a refund?
Thanks
L

No, you can request a refund, replacement or a repair...but ultimately the seller get's to choose.0 -
Just like to say I like the way you set your post out others could learn from that clarity.
LSW is correct though0 -
If a loan pram is not available, I would be arguing that it a repair is unreasonable due to the inconvenience. You would therefore be entitled to a replacement or a refund.0

Excellent post. Entirely true. Ask for a refund in writing, send recorded delivery, email them a copy of that letter.0 -
Would someone kindly explain what excessive bobbling means.I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0
