I sold an item on ebay for £20 and they collect at 4 today :)

Also, have avoided the food shop this week by eating out of the freezer and back of cupboard lol. Mind you, spent a load on medicines as we are all poorly in our house... AGAIN

Was going to go into town but decided to stay at home instead - saving prob £50 :)

I only ever buy stuff on ebay now IF I have sold enough to pay for it from my Paypal account - feel very good about that now as it means nothing comes off my card :D

Lastly - Have been drafting a letter to a Debt Recovery Co  as it should be statute barred by now. They are chasing me and its making me very depressed so anything I can do to save money at the moment will make me feel slightly better.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :)

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Have never actually tried selling anything on ebay - is it easy? How do you work out postage, etc.? Is there an "idiot's guide" anywhere (and I mean really simple to follow!)???
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

I'm going to make a curry for tonight, so we avoid buying a takeaway. Since last Sunday, we've been tempted to have takeaway/fast food about 4 times! I think it's because we both get tired then don't fancy cooking.

Last Sunday I wanted a Maccies brekkie, but made egg rolls instead. Then there was a night when we really wanted Indian, but made a curry and enjoyed it far more. Another night we both wanted pizza, but I made a couple of bases in the BM and we created our own instead.

I don't even enjoy takeaway very much when I have it, home cooking is soooo much better. Plus we have saved alot of money by avoiding temptation!

You can get a leaflet from the post office explaining all charges and weights so you can weigh your items at home and check. To be honest though, I just look at what others are charging and go with the average. I've never gone short yet.

It is easy - set up a PayPal account to collect all the money - you tend to get more for your item if you offer paypal.

Also, take good photos - again, you get more money

Its easy enough to do - it takes a bit longer the first few items but once you get the hang of it you can get lots on in no time at all :)

Def worth it - I have a big box of stuff to ebay - some things I will leave till Xmas as I think they will get more then :)

    Hope that helps :)

    From Cheletastic:

"Hi all ... Will stay in tidying house and maybe do some more knitting to be sold".

That sounds interesting, Cheletastic - can I ask what you knit and where you sell it please, if you don't mind?

    :)

Since I'm posting to you, I should list my own stuff.
    - got a cheap haircut at a walk in hairdresser (only £10).
    - did £5 of top up shopping at a Tesco Express, as I'm going away on Monday, and reused a Tesco bag to get the clubcard point!
    - reserved a book from the library for a seminar project instead of buying it (ugh, 10 people have reserved it before me, even tho there's 3 copies it will be a couple of months. Ah well....)
    - have started to talk to Starbucks and the local Green Party about the mass recycling of used coffee grounds for gardeners, which I first heard about on this site - not immediately moneysaving for me, but it will be for lots of people locally in the long term (including me), and it will be good for the environment too.
    - managed to avoid buying any fast food on my visit to town -that was *so hard*, but I did it, v proud of myself!

And the icing on the cake, the silver tabby from next door finally let me stroke him! :j

    - Have gained about 1000 piggy points and cashed them in for a Boots voucher
    - spend £1.50 on the kids...thats it...on a Saturday!
