Tesco Mobile contract was £34, only been charged £22..

Long story short: my friend ordered a £34 a month contract with Tesco Mobile online, which included a free Galaxy S3. Three sent a letter saying that it is only £22 a month and welcomed him to the network. Thing is, he's worried because he's not got an S3 for, is only paying £22 a month and is concerned they will ask him for back payments to balance the amount he agreed to initially with Tesco.
What are his rights? Is this a case of Three's agreed with their letter to only charge £22 a month for 24 months so he's fine?
Or can Tesco Mobile take the phone back or demand more. It's a bit of an odd situation and doesn't want to do anything illegal here. Thanks.

Keep the difference in the bank and hope they don't notice?0

Although the contract is only £22 you may find you have so many bolt ons that don't come on the initial agreement.0

I thought Tesco Mobile uses O2 as their network carrier but your contract is actually with Tesco. How did Three get involved?0

As well as having their own network, they sell contracts on other networks too. Just like Carphone Warehouse and Phone 4 U do.0 -
Tesco Mobile offer contracts to other networks through their site. Usually with better deals, or at least different if the network itself can't offer you what you want direct. Always worth a look if after a new phone btw.0
