bluetooth on d500

has anyone any info on what phones can be paired with the samsung d500 on orange i tried to search for my spare panasonic x70 and it couldnt find it and also my mates nec 616 to no joy i phoned orange they told me to ring samsung which i did thy told me not all phones can be found it is only compatible with certains ones possibly ones that are on 1.1 (gobbeldee gook to me) mind you the lad i spoke to didnt really know he had to ask someone else...............


this is my first bluetooth phone so i am not to keyed up on it any info is appreciated

have u made sure that the phone is 'visible'. its under the bluetooth, connectivity menu where its default setting is on invisible to other devices

yeah i have made sure of that it is visible it even lets me pair up with them when you have to put in a passkey it then puts it into my devices but i have to come off my devices to search for them but they can never be found

i bought my gf the sammy d500 and it sends and receives file easily to/from my nokia 7610, my noia 6630 and my pc.
not tried with a panasonic handset.
the only files the d500 may have problems with is java games.
maybe you need to change a setting?
heres the settings from my gfs d500:
1 Activation - ON
2 My devices - n/a
3 My phones visibilty - ON
4 My phones name - n/a
5 Secure mode - OFF (maybe i should change this?)
6 Bluetooth services - n/a

Then i simply select a pic or video clip or wotever from the funbox, select 'send' and then select 'via bluetooth' and select the required target device from the list that appears.
and away it goes !

I have paired my d500 with my old x70 no problem and several other bluetooth phones.
I asume both phones have bluetooth activated, visibility on and passkey is entered the same into both when prompted?

yes i did everything i have already paired up with a p900 nokia 6230 nokia 6600
it just wont find the panasonic x70 and a nec616


the thing is it lets me send from the x70 to the d500 but not the other way round i asked samsung if there could be a fault with my phone he said there is nothing wrong with the fone its 'just basically that the d500 is a faster speed than older fones thats why it cant find it i am just curious to know if the lad was talking crap the one from samsung

Hi,

all i can offer is the fact that I really had no trouble connecting with my panasonic x70 and d500. I did have trouble connecting the d500 to a motorola v6oo (?) but perserverence paid off and it did finally send files.
