Dla, carers allowance, CTC and WTC?

Hi there I was hoping someone could help me a little bit.
I have 2 children 1 of which receives high rate DLA due to very severe autism.
When he was younger we applied for Child tax credits and working tax credits to be told we weren't entitled (his autism wasn't discovered at that point as he was too young) so my husband was working 40 hours a week with me at home looking after him.
We have now applied for tax credits and child tax credits again since having our daughter and being awarded the DLA and carers allowance.
I was wondering a few things. Firstly with child tax credit's will my son be under the disabled child element or the severley disabled child element? (We aren't sure as personally I wouldn't consider it severe as in life threatening however it impacts his and our lives significantly)
Also does anyone know how this impacts working tax credits too?
Just a little curious as I'm sure those of us that have applied for working tax credits and child tax credits they don't even hint at the amount you'll receive over the phone and I am simply curious.
Thank you for your help in advance. We greatly appreciate it

If your child is on the highest rate care of DLA then you would get the severely disabled element.

The part about the disabled elements are on page 6.0
