Reclaiming bank charges

I had a bank account open with nationwide for many years. When i first heard about reclaiming bank charges, i followed martins advice and template letters to try and reclaim the money back. But unfortunatly had no luck, they refused to refund me anything.

I closed the account down nearly 2 years ago. And still have outstanding charges i want to try and reclaim back. Unfortunatly i do not have the letters i sent or any of my statements anymore.

I wondered if anyone can give me any advice to reclaim these charges back without having to start from scratch? Nationwide shoud have my letters on file. Do i start again from scratch to try and reclaim? Or go straight to the ombudsman? Im unsure of how much the charges totaled to and i have no access now to request my statments. Im sure it was a little over £1000, which would come in handy to pay my credit off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Are these the same charges you tried to get back before. Did they actually refuse you.

As far as I know, if it is the case, if they have refused you and you did not get back to them within a certain time to object, then youdont get a second bite of the cherry, sorry

Unfortunately if they sent you their final answer then you had a limited time to go to the ombudsman and can not go back and claim now or take it to the ombudsman. However if you aren't sure it would be worth writing to them again and see what the answer is because the guidance has changed in the meantime and they may just auto refund now.
