Rental deposit scheme help - rented property

We are currently 9 months into a 12month lease on a rented house.
Having had to pay a deposit which has been held under a Deposit Protection Scheme, out of the blue today we have received a letter from the company managing the scheme informing us that our Letting Agents are no longer members of the scheme.
Do we have anything to worry about here, as i have contacted our Letting Agent today as for an explanation as to what is going on.
If anyone has any experience of this, can you please let me know.
Thank you..... SPG

The ultimate responsibility for your deposit is the landlord. This is who you should be addressing your enquiry to. IN WRITING0

Should our reputable letting agent be telling us what is also happening though ??0

It *may* simply be that the LA is switching schemes or it could be that they no longer meet the membership requirements of the scheme that they originally used.Either way your tenancy deposit needs to be re-protected elsewhere and yes, it is reasonable to expect that the LA keeps you informed but don't just sit there waiting because many LAs are idle beings. Write and keep a copy.
IIRC at least one of the deposit schemes keeps the deposit as registered for a max of 3 months after the LA membership ends or until they are notified that the LA has signed up to a new scheme, whichever is the sooner. The LA should confirm this with you.
Do you have the LLs direct contact address?0
