Non cash ISA

I have a cash ISA for this year but I would like a stocks and shares one for the remaining £4000. How do I go about getting one? The cheapest and easiest way, is what I am looking for? Anybody done this and could give me clear steps what to do.?

Try these, you will need a debit card, bank details and NI number but it is fairly simple.

Do you know what you want to invest in?

No that is my problem. Now I have some money I don't know where to put it. I have it in a savings account just now but as I want it for my pension I feel it would be better in stocks and shares. Problem is I don't have any ideas about the funds etc. Maybe I should just buy shares like in Tesco etc.
