£100 Switching To RBS

Royal Bank of Scotland are offering £100 if you switch to them. The thing is, because am only a student getting £30 a week from college I was wondering if they offer a basic account that I can switch to that wont cost me anything.

Thanks ;)

I am sure they offer student accounts - have you checked their website?

Yeah, however I think its only for university students, and am a college student studying a NVQ course.

Looks like another one added to the fold of join up and we'll give you £100. Appears to be no minimum payment - just blag and run.

From previous posts, seems like they made this offer last year as well.
  • Cheers guys. Does anyone know anymore info on this at all? Also, in that 2-4 weeks it takes to complete the switch, will I still recieve my EMA into the bank account I am going to be closing?

2-4 weeks.. if halifax are anything to go by it'll be 2-3 months!! :rotfl:

as for Educational Maintenance Allowance (Had to look that one up :) ), you probably don't have to close the other account(likewise can see no info on the £100 switching with rbs for T's&C's). I would leave it open and transfer afterwards..

Its ROYAL Bank of Scotland and switching TO. My current bank is BoS/Halifax lol.

Ok, I'll give RBS a phone in a few minuts then to query :)

Unfortunately I'm going to HBoS..After over 5 weeks they've only *just* sent a letter to my existing bank, hence just saying it may be more than 2-3 weeks. Halifax were quoting 'within 4 weeks'. If rbs get inundated, it may take longer...I wasn't getting HBoS and Rbs mixed up, we're not all sassenachs!!
