home visit and recording?

I've just had a chat with Atos and they have in all their wisdom given me a home visit on reciept of my Dr's letter which is unusual given the last 3 times i got a taxi offered with the same letter and a lot more evidence then i have now.
Anyway i'm in uncharted territory i just need to know, as i requested an officially recorded assessment, does the examiner bring the machine along with them? I'm worried they turn up with no recorder because it's suppose to stay in the assessment centre/ is too heavy to bring etc.
???
Thanks guys.

Be interesting.... not sure how they'd do a home based recording. However even if it is possible you can expect problems ahead as they apparently only have 11 machines in total... which might explain many claimants being told the machine is currently broken so isn't available and then effectively placing blame on the claimant... something a recent FOI request to DWP suggests in response that it is ATOS HC who holds responsibility for such cancellations. I would make sure your request to have it recorded is documented... but assuming you will likely face problems I would prepare to record secretly for yourself. Hopefully someone will know what arrangements, if any, ATOS HC have in theory for home based medicals and recording.

ok so i thought the HCP would be turning up on my appointment day but of course it's a different department so they have now cancelled that appointment and told me i would be contacted by the home visits team to make another.
Has anybody found ATO's taking complaints more seriously recently? I've sent the same letter the last 3 times and this is the first time i have got a home visit as opposed to a taxi.
I didn't even make a complaint i just e-mailed customer services to tell them my appointment was in 5 days [including weekend] not two weeks as the Dr had stated. I told them i would contact my MP in two days to chase it up if nothing had been done.
Basically i didn't want the appointment arriving with no word and them saying sorry you didn't turn up regardless of what you were waiting for, i know what they were like in the past so was panicking it wouldn't be sorted!0 -
I'd hazard a guess that mention of MP probably helps... if there's one thing ATOS HC are conscious of it is bad publicity in political spheres."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0
