Birmingham airport carparking

I've got a flight from Birmingham on Good Friday at 8am (7am checkin time). Anybody experienced with the traffic to the airport? I've never been to Birmingham before. I've got 95 miles to come, from junction 1 of the M40.
And regarding parking, I can do multi-storey (£20) or long-stay parking (£18.60) (short-stay would be too expensive) . How far is the multi-storey from the airport? Short walk?
Best to stay the night in a hotel beforehand?

My policies are based not on some economics theory, but on things I and millions like me were brought up with: an honest day's work for an honest day's pay; live within your means; put by a nest egg for a rainy day; pay your bills on time; support the police - Margaret Thatcher.

The three-day weekend multi-storey price is a good deal. It's normally c£30. All the multi-storeys are within a 5 min walk of the terminal. The absolute best price for three days would be c£15 at Airparks (through Holiday Extras) which is a 15-20 mins shuttle ride from the airport.
However, check the parking times carefully - you may not get out of the car park within the 3x24 hours period!
Here's a plan of the car parks.
Traffic at that time on Good Friday should be quite light - not many trucks around! However, going back towards London on the M40 on the Monday may be slow going - everyone else will be doing it.0 -
I used APH before and it's very good and very convenient. Bus ride (free & frequentish) from there takes only about 10 mins, if that. Staff was friendly and don't have any problem with the car - no extra miles etc. Very safe location, all fenced off.0

I'm coming back very late Sunday. So 2.5 days - which I guess counts as 3.
Multi-storey car parking in the morning for £20, or a night in a hotel in Birmingham, not sure I fancy the latter. I'll probably suffer the 5am start and drive up.My policies are based not on some economics theory, but on things I and millions like me were brought up with: an honest day's work for an honest day's pay; live within your means; put by a nest egg for a rainy day; pay your bills on time; support the police - Margaret Thatcher.0 -
I'd go for the multi storey - straight over the road into the terminal.0

I've just got a quote for APH for your dates of £8.42! This is based on arriving at the car park at 05:00 on 6 April and returning at 23:00 on 8 April. I used the Egg promo link HERE. There does not appear to be any necessity to pay with an Egg credit card as the discount is already included within the price shown. This space has been intentionally left blank0
