Once this current generation of yoof finally get their act together they should repay there elders - I hear gov are capping what the golden gen should have to pay - quite right too why should they have to sell up to pay for care when the yoof can help and then the parents can pass there assess down - everyone wins

You are clearly trying to start an argument. What is it about?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

Of the boomers paid for there care it will go into private companies and be tossed away, by the yoof picking up the tab the elders keep their homes and money and if there is any left it can be passed down to their kids0

Not sure if you have figured this one, but my parents aren't going to bill me for all those years I was a child, and likewise I won't bill my children for the years they need me.
Ok I understand the idea of paying for care and getting more inheritance, but doesn't the sum end up the same? I either get no inheritance or I get £50k inheritance and £50k worth of care bills.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

If the government were to levy a tax on the estates of everyone (edit- over 60) who died of say 10%and use it to fund care fees of the small proportion who need it, you could achieve the same effect without the young having to pay anything directly.
The idea that people are entitled to inherit anything is wrong. Many people expect to inherit but very few are willing to do a thing to help their elderly relatives when they get frail. Many people could live longer in their own homes if they got such help. Just witnessed some distant relatives walking off with the proceeds of their aunt's estate, having not visited her for two decades. I'm all for leaving your estate to later generations but only if they deserve it.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Look on the bright side if you inherited the £50K and didn't earn enough you wouldn't have to pay the full £50K.:)"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

I think the idea is that you pay for your care but once you can demonstrate you have spent up to the cap you do not pay any more. If you spend less its your good fortune to die early. Ideas that involve distributing underspends to those who overspend smell of socialism so would no doubt be outlawed by George.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment.
