Dishawasher Broken Down Again

My parents bought me a dishwasher (Hotpoint FDD914) in November 09. It broke down twice during the first year, for a third time around a year ago and yet again it has broke down again I took an extended warranty with D&G.

Each time the same two codes come up and each time I call Hotpoint with the error codes and each time they tell me they cant pre order parts so I have to have an engineer round to look at it, then come back with the parts.

This will now be the 4th heating element that this dishwasher needs. I live in a hard water area but the dishwasher I replaced never had any problems and is still going strong at my friends.

Can anyone advise me how I can go about getting a replacement rather than yet another repair that I have to take 2 days off work to sort.

Thanks in Advance

  • Could anyone advise please on where I may stand to demand a new replacement machine under the new for old part of my extended warranty.

I am currently awaiting a call from domestic and general who the extended warranty is with. I have exp[lained that Hotpoint will not order parts using the error code I provide so it is a minimum of 2 visits to get it repaired.

    you can't demand a replacement.

you need to check the terms and conditions of the policy.

Without access to that information its hard for anyone here to give you specific advice...

Just buy a washing up bowl..far less trouble.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
