Can I change cover on annual travel policy?

I have an annual travel policy which I took out 6months ago. It is for European travel only but now I find we may travel outside Europe in the next few months. Can I pay a bit more and extend my existing policy to cover non - europe for the rest of the policy term?
I'll give them a ring when they're open but in the mean time - does anyone know?
