    What about a cowgirl!

That way you can wear jeans, boots, a checked shirt and a hat.

You can always add more things if you want to go all out like a gun belt, pig tails etc

amongst others. Theres a few size 16+ outfits, and even if you dont want to buy/rent one, you could steal the ideas and make your own?

Togas are very easy to make when invited to an improptu fancy dress- just a sheet, a fancy curtain tieback and fake ivy sprayed gold on your head.

Cruella de Ville is simple too- black/white dress. faux! fur coat (like £5 at charity shops, or lend one), spray half your hair white, other black.

You could have a look in TK Maxx as i know they have clothes that go up to larger sizes - although some are in americansizes but they also have a clearance bit and you may be able to get an item of clothing that you can slightly change it or alter it to what you want it to be - maybe cutting or sewing things on.

You could also cheak out some charity shops :search: as they usually sell loads of bigger sizes and if your only gonna wear it once or twice you dont wanna be paying evans prices !!!

What about a witch! You could use an existing black dress or skirt and t shirt. Make a cape from some asatiny mateial or lining. Stitch on a few glittery stars, half moon shapes. You can buy witches hats although thsi might not be the season for them.

I remember making this for my daughter when she was about 7 or 8 and that Christmas she never played with anything else.
if i had known then what i know now

i went to a fancy dress party as an oompa loompa last year, got some bright orange face paint, a green wig off ebay, some stripy football socks, white 3/4 trousers (which i had already), braces and a brown shirt... cost me maybe £10 or £15 in total and it looked brilliant!

ok so it's not something perhaps that you aspired to (the film came out in 1971) but it's a damn cool costume!

edit... and it suited my more uh, "rotund" frame down to the ground
