wage increased by £50 tax credit down by £60.

I was taken on by the company i work for after a year on an agency. My wage increased from £260 to £309 take home per week. We as a couple were recieving £89 per week tax cred, that had dropped down to £31 per week. As csa and debts are taking large amounts this shortfall has driven me to the edge of dispair. Does this shortfall sound correct as the decrease in tax credit is more than the increase in wage???? Please somebody help.... :(

Tax credits lag wage changes as there's a disregard for income increases from one year to the next. So they might have been higher last year due to being based on income the year before.

What was your income in the 2010/11 tax year (joint gross)?

What was your income in the 2011/12 tax year?

How many hours do you both work?

How many children (that live with you, not that you pay csa for)?
