Disneyland Paris

What is the cheapest/best way to go to Disney?

Four of us will be going, 2 adults, and 2 kids, 4 and 5.

I would like to go around the last half of May.

I find the disney hotel too expensive but worry that the cheaper options take too long to get to/in the park.

I would rather not take the car.

We live in Merseyside. Are there any flight deals about?

Thanks

    Hi

We went to Eurodisney last year and booked our flights through ba.com as they were the cheapest. We Booked our accommodation on line direct with the hotel - Moevenpick Dream Castle Hotel. This was one of the cheaper hotels just outside the park and I can't recommend it enough. There are shuttle buses from all of the hotels in the area every 10 mins or so and it is only a 10 min journey to the park entrance. We will be going again probably next year as already booked this years hols. We will def be staying at this hotel again as it was absolutely fantastic. I would not even consider one of the disney hotels as even some of these are on the bus route so you still have to get on a bus to get to the entrance. Go onto the Moevenpick website and have a look - it's a fab hotel, beautiful rooms and excellent food.

Also, when you get off the plane in Paris, there is a bus stop with a Eurodisney bus that takes you direct to the hotels around the park in 1 hour. You don't pre-book this, you just pay as you get on.

    Hope this helps!

it is far cheaper to buy the accommodation via the disney.co.uk website than via a travel agents, it does not include flights etc.

The other thing to concider is that the park tickets cost £25 each per day, now that can mount up, you can buy a one day ticket each, then go to the annual pass office and take out the annual pass, have a look at this site for more info http://www.dlrpmagic.com/guides/practical/annualpassports/

Do not stay at the davy crocket ranch as you have to have a car to stay there, I would also recommend that you go self catering as it is much cheaper, there are these apartments at Residence Pierre et Vacances City Val d'Europe and there is a shuttle bus that takes you to disney, there is a shopping centre there too so you can get your food etc

I highly recommend that you do not go to disney at the weekend or a school holiday, either here on in France

have you also thought about the eurostar, it's quick and easy and takes you to the door?

The drive is very easy but it is a very long way, I have done it several times and it does knacker you out, you are coming from such a long way away I think that it will spoil your time there

    Thanks everbody.

I will look into the MovenPick Dream Castle tonight.

All of the disney offers seem to include park access for 1 more day than hotel nights. Are you paying for this access or is it free?

I cant imagine wanting to go to the park in the evening after traveling during the day. I doubt the kids will have the energy either.

At least I now have some price/quality comparisons to check out.

I can assure you, your children will want to get into the park asap

I have been to disneyparis about 10 times and have driven each time, the first time we went my youngest was 1 and my daughter was 3, we spent from 5am to 3pm in the car and went straight to the park and stayed there until 8pm when it closed

I was there in Jan just gone with my friend and her children, again we left at 5am, got to the Ranch at about 2pm, spent and hour or so getting settled then went to the park for a few hours, it was the best thing after a long day travelling, the children are so excited that after all that time travelling then for nothing to come from it asap could be very disappointing for them

the package deals always give you a ticket for the day you arrive and for the one you leave, it's all part of the deal

The cheapest way to do disney (trust me I go every year) is to fly from liverpool to CDG with easyjet. Normally costs around £65 each so *4= £260

Book the hotel direct with Disney; they have the best rates and the price includes park tickets and breakfast and extra magic hours (disney hotel guests get an extra 2 hours in the park). Book at https://www.disneylandparis.com. The Cheyenne is the best value (your kids will love the theming) 3 nights in late may comes to around £400

To get to disney from the airport, I recommend a private shuttle. I normally use BStransports. It's 70euros each way so about £90 in total.

So in total it'll cost £750. Not that bad for a short trip to Disney.
  • I have just recently been in the same boat and managed to find a few good bargains.

We are flying with Jet2.com from Manchester to CDG - the flights were a very bargainous £50 each for 1st week of July! Flight times are good too, no funny hours.

We also opted for Movenpick Dream Castle as this was recommended on Tripadvisor as one of the top hotels as voted by the public. The room we have booked has a king size and 2 bunks, each with its own curtain for privacy! ;) Not sure if you would think this is practical for you with the age of your children but worth a look - it was £65 per night (cheapest deal was through clicking options to search for the cheapest price via trip advisor again.

I spent hours, even days searching for the best option and this worked out the cheapest for us in July. Hope its of some help.

    Happy holidays!

What is the davey crocket ranch like?

I know it is made up of cabins and static caravans...

We have taken my kids on many a Haven-Holidays. We ussually try to get a gold 2 bed caravan with them. While my wife and I would rather stay in a nice hotel, the kids love the caravans and with proper bedrooms we can relax and watch some TV while they are in bed in a seperate room.

Plus our 20 year old son wants to come with us, and to get him his own room would be too expensive. the DCR seems to be the only place that caters for 5 people in one "room".

But what is it like? What is access to the park like from DCR?
  • You could go by TGV from Charles de Gaulle to Disneyland. The journey takes 10 minutes. An advance purchase ticket for 2 adults and 2 children costs just under €90 return (£61).
