Olympic torch concert Birmingham

I was successful in the ballot and am the proud owner of four tickets! However, I'm struggling to find any information at all about the actual event. I'm taking my five year old nephew as he is The Wanted's greatest fan (apparently...!) so would quite like to know what's there, and at roughly what times. The doors open at 12.45 with last entry at 6.30 - I don't want to go too early and have a bored little boy after a couple of hours, but equally I don't want him (or his sister and my daughter) to miss anything. I've googled, but to little avail! Does anyone know anything about it?! Thanks! :)

Local authorities tend to be heavily involved in Olympic torch concerts and events.

Having said that, there's not a lot on the Birmingham City Council website.

Looks like there are two concerts and there's some links to the organisers.

This page is about media accreditation, but so what? I would ring the guy mentioned at the bottom of the page and ask him to point you in the right direction.

He may have a press release or two which he can email you.

I guess you've already seen this, but here's what's on the official Olympic Site

Birmingham also has it's own site here

Thank you both so much - I'll send some e mails tomorrow! I know it may seem a bit daft being so desperate to know the planned timings of the concert, but I really don't want a bored (and possibly soaked!) 5 year old for the afternoon/evening! Thanks again, you are much better 'googlers' than me!:T
  • BTW for anyone still interested in going tickets are available here:

Well, it was BRILLIANT! The kids loved it! I have sore shoulders this morning - nephew bounced up and down on them yelling "I love you The Wanted" and singing at the top of his voice, very cute!
