halifax loan PPI reclaim

Hi All,

been a long time reader of this site but not registered before, you guys inspired me to claim PPI i have had on a loan since 2008. its final payment next month!

i have claimed on the fact that i was told that i needed to ppi to get the lone (was in branch so i know its my word against theirs). But also claimed due to the fact it looks like the PPI was added onto my loan as a lump up front. I recently received my annual statement in april and it says my total amount borrowed was £11,900 however when i check the account online the total about borrowed says £9,500 - which is the amount i believed i originally borrowed!

do i stand any chance with this claim? i was not told that they would do it this way and feel i have borrowed over £2400 more than i actually thought i had!!

thanks for your help!

:)

    hi,

forgot to say i sent my forms in 6 weeks today and had no phone call that i know of just an acknowledgement letter that they had received my claim. i know they have 8 weeks and are backlogged but whats the usual time period? also read about halifax auto upholding - is this still the case?

sorry to bump again, just been reading up some more, as I'm paying 1 single monthly payment to halifax, with no separate PPI payment is this front loaded? there is no mention of a separate PPI payment on the annual statement just the one single monthly payment. also there is no breakdown of how much is loan or PPI.

there might had been something on the original agreement but i don't have that to hand any longer (due to moving house, lots of things got mis placed!)

Verbal allegations are always weak and rarely upheld on that basis. However, front loading of PPI (single premium) is a very strong complaint reason.

that was my thought, at the time i filled the form i didn't realise it was front loaded, but on the form i did put that i did not know that the real figure that i borrowed was actually £2400 more than i had thought and i was not aware this was the case - I'm hoping from this they realise I'm complaining that it was front loaded!

just to check, this is a front loaded PPI policy though?

was just looking over my statements and things last night, I'm paying one fixed payment to halifax of 333 a month, this isn't split and as described above the amount i thought i borrowed (and indeed the amount halifax shows me on my online banking) is £2400 more on the annual statement (has a star next to it and says may contain PPI insurance)

this is definitely front loaded PPI isn't it? just want to get my facts straight before i take things further with them if i need too
