Know that you have been faring better than us these last few days plus a couple of degrees warmer too! but don't begrudge you because Wales usually draws the shorter straw. Just hope it doesn't all reverse next week!

Porthdinllaen - lovely beach (National Trust car park, or park on the roadside) & pub (bit pricy, but lovely atmosphere): http://www.tycoch.co.uk/
If you get up to Caernarfon area there's a nice cafe at Fron Goch Garden Centre: http://www.frongoch-gardencentre.co.uk/cafe.asp
Llanbedrog beach is nice (between Pwllheli and Abersoch).
Nice walk down by the river at Llanystumdwy - there's also a cafe in the village next to the river but I haven't used it for a few years.
Borth-y-Gest is a village next to Porthmadog (nothing much in the way of services apart from car park, toilets and maybe a cafe/restaurant), nice walks on the coast path westwards (towards the sea from the estuary).
Black Rock Sands (found via Porthmadog) you can drive on the very long beach. However, I read somewhere that there's a charge for this now (it wasn't like that in my day!)0 -

Unfortunately that pub has started to attract chavs so be wary of any lost children wandering around looking for their parents - http://hydromontage.com/wish-you-werent-here-mr-cameron-pm-wears-glum-expression-on-grey-easter-break-with-family/.OneYorkshireLass wrote: »Black Rock Sands (found via Porthmadog) you can drive on the very long beach. I think there's always been a charge to drive onto the beach, at least in the summer. There's a hut next to the only road onto the beach and you have to pay the man to pass. If you want to avoid the charge you could try driving past the man without stopping or if the tide's out you could park in Criccieth and walk round the headland.
http://www.gwynedd.gov.uk/upload/public/attachments/841/Taflen_Morfa_Bychan.pdfThe fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us
Baby we were born to walk0 -
Haha, love it
There's 2 roads to the beach (Beach Road and the one past Greenacres - Morfa Bychan Road) I think there's been a man at Morfa Bychan Road for some years, but not at Beach Road? I've been going for 20 years and in the ye olde days it was free (either that, or my dad just zoomed past whoever he was supposed to pay!)
Oh, just looked on Street View and there's a hut at the Beach Road entrance, presumably occupied by a man in summer?0 -

There's a lovely beach on the A499 from Caernarfon towards Pwllheli called Dinas Dinlle. Great for a walk as it has a tarmaced pathway. Also home to the Caernarfon Airport which you could visit for a bit of plane spotting (my DH takes my 4 yr old & they love it!) & if the weather is nice you could pay for a ride in a plane! Theres a lovely eaterie on the front called Bwyty Lleu - great food!
If you fancy a walk through the woods pop over the road from Dinas Dinlle to Glynllifon
http://www.glynllifon.com/
its a real shame the mansion isn't open to visitors but it does have some lovely walks.
We often go on the weekends with the kids x0 -

'Obviously not', I'm sure you've been thinking! Well of course you'd be right too! Was just being courteous to someone who was being helpful to me. Perhaps I will pick up a few more phrases next week!

Hey Greenface! Please know if I can be of any assistance.....maybe inform you of any words/phrases. I'm a Welsh speaker & I can easily see how its a difficult language to learn.
But making the effort its what's important. A "diolch yn fawr" at the shop or a "bore da" or "pnawn da".... xx0
