Nikon repair guaranteed?

In March I sent my Nikon D80 back to Nikon for the second time to repair two main faults.
These are the same faults that have been repaired before and although it seemed fixed the first time, it went faulty again.
They replaced the DG PCB UNIT 2 and I spoke several times to someone at Nikon as I wasn't convinced this would fix the problems but I was assured it would.
I have only used my camera a couple of times since it came back repaired and once again the faults are still present.
One of the problems relates to an 'F' error code which means the lens is not correctly seated on the body, this has been present since I bought it, the second fault is that it often makes no attempt to focus when the button is semi depressed so photos are out of focus.
Is the work I had done in March covered by any kind of guarantee? I am absolutly furious that my camera is virtually useless and has been faulty since I bought it and Nikon keep 'repairing' it and sending it back to me only for it to still not work.
I am sending another letter tomorrow but want to know if I have any recourse to back me up.
Many thanks
Sarah

Generally a guarantee only runs from the date of sale, so if the original length of the warranty has now expired you'll no longer be covered by it.
However, that's not the end of it. It could be possible that Nikon have issued a separate warranty for the replacement parts; you would need to check any documentation that came with the repair to confirm that.
Otherwise, you have the Sale of Goods Act to fall back on. How much you can rely on this depends on how old the camera is (if it's less than 6 years you should have some level of cover), and whether it can be proved that the fault is inherent - given that Nikon have already repaired it then it seems likely that you can prove this. Under SOGA your recourse is from the seller not the manufacturer. More details here:

The only thing I might be concerned about is where you say in your signature "£3000 of Canon cameras for my team" - if this means that the Nikon was bought for a business then your rights will be different.0 -
Many (but not all) will cover the repair work for 90 days since repair - Nikon are under no obligation to provide an extra warranty.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Thanks for the reply.
I have just read the back of my latest Nikon invoice and it looks as though the new parts should be under warranty for 6 months, I didn't think to check so thank you.
The cameras I won were compact Canons and nothing to do with my Nikon DSLR!
