Cant see how the advice asking the OP to contact the event organisers will do anything. They will make the relevant parties know and aware of what is happening. I am aware this was not some bike race for Manchester but a national one .

OP clearly at fault here and as mentioned above by another member, the OP said "Sat Nav said I was 5 minutes away" Well your passenger could have walked and made it known and you joined up after. Bet your bottom dollar the OP still fires off two emails though regardless of responses here.

I wouldn't say the OP was "clearly at fault". IMHO nobody was "at fault", it was just one of those things but unfortunately the OP can't expect the service provider to take it on the chin either.

    Lets put it this way.

You both agree to meet at a specific point in a specific timeframe in order to render services.

The massage parlour was at that point during that timeframe and ready to carry out paid for services. You were not.

That's about as blunt as I can be. Goodwill is all you can rely on.

Why not contact them, briefly explain the situation and apologise for wasting their time. Then go on to explain how you was looking forward to using their services and if it is possible to agree on an alternative date whereby you would be happy to pay a fee for the missed appointment?

They may be willing to compromise somewhat. A letter of complaint as advised is going to do nothing to help you.

The massage place may have been paying two people double time to massage you and your partner as it was a bank holiday.
