I wanna cheap hotel in Manchester centre

Hi,

After managing to get take that tickets for Manchester I now need somewhere to stay as cheap as possible. I have noticed that the cheapest ones such as holiday inn and travelodge are fully booked already
So can anyone suggest the next best thing..close to the arena if possible?
Any experiences of any of the hotels would be much appreciated.

Thanks buddies, Helen xx

I think the problem you will have is that there are thousands of take that fans swamping the city that night with exactly the same idea as yourself.

Maybe you could look at the inexpensive hotels out towards the M60 and use public transport to get in the city.

I never stay in the city centre I live 10 minutes away so I have no idea if they are ok but I have eaten at the mitre before the bomb and it was nice.

http://www.stayinn.co.uk/ is just down the road from the arena on the inner ring road the arena is on the inner ring road also

Its right opposite the Traffor Centre so easy to get to.

There are a lot of smaller cheap hotels and boarding houses around fallowfield and withington and there is a very regular cheap night bus service out that way. I don't know what any of these places are like I'm afraid.

The second to last of those (the Claremont) is quite a long way back from Wilmslow road where the buses run. It is still walkable though, a bit over a mile I think. I think it is served by other buses too but they won't be as frequent and may not run late.

The Whalley is not near that bus route but is served by the 86 which runs til 3 in the morning on Friday and Saturday nights .

We have stayed at the premier travel inn in Prestwich before. You can get the tram from Victoria - it takes about fifteen minutes.
