Question regarding windscreen and insurance

You need to read the terms of your policy to find out for certain.
Most will replace like for like if you use their preferred suppliers but some budget policies specify that it is "like for like" in terms of features but will be white box rather than branded.
Of cause it depends also on if it is a standard feature or if it is an upgrade/ optional extra that you did declare it when you purchased the policy.
Committing fraud for the sake of a couple of hundred pounds tops doesnt really feel worth while to me.0 -
Where did I say that I was committing fraud? I only enquired what would be replaced if the windscreen ever did break.
I can be very clumsy at times..............0 -

I simply stated that I don't think that committing fraud is worth while for the sake of a couple of hundred quid, which I don't.0 -

Isn't that to be taken as you think I am to commit fraud?0 -
That sounds more like a guilty conscience that you think I would infer your going to commit fraud from the statements like "if it were to break" and "I can be very clumsy at times"0

I would never intentionally drop a large rock on my windscreen. It would be purely an accident..:beer:0

Its the 6th time the same rock drops on the screen that may raise suspicions0

Only one side works, So probably a wire or fuse to that side, So after accidently
breaking it and claiming on your insurance it still wont work on that side.
But then you get to pay a bit extra for 5 years to cover the cost + excess of course.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

The other side has one element that works so fuse theory is out. Shame though, its annoying that its the bloody drivers side that has the issue. Passenger side works perfectly.0 -
