Court official: Can I help you sir?
Person: Yeah, I am here to declare myself bancrupt.
Court official: That will be £200 please, the price has just gone up I'm afraid.
Person: Not a problem mate, here have a cheque.

well people about to go bankrupt usually just stop paying any of their debts so should have a reasonable amount of money to spend on bankruptcy fees0

it's always been the case that you actually need to have some money to go bankrupt, as strange as it may seem. definitely agree that it shouldn't be a taxpayer subsidised service!'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.'

The debt system is crazy, it seems to reward irresponsible behavior. Makes you think about borrowing a lot and not paying it back after all that's what banks and governments do.0
