Is this claims company correct

Hi

I have had a cold call from a company called "MCS" or "MyClaims" tonight.

The nice lady said I could claim PPI back off my home loan and Personal loan, as I am paying more than 25% more than what I originally borrowed. I also have credit cards and bank accounts she would like to look into as well to get my charges back.

E.g £10,000 84mnth @14.88%APR, £192,28/month. Total repayment being £16,151.52. The lady said I should only pay back 25% more (£12500). Meaning they owe me thousands. My other loan is similar.

Even though I told her that both loans did not have PPI on them, she said that the high interest rate is how they have added it on anyway, according to her reference to the Ministry of justice, to which she claimed their company was registered with.

She said I needed to pay their fee £299 upfront for them to start. Then she knocked it down to £100+VAT when I said I could not pay and then down to £50+VAT when I said I still could not pay that.

She was able to offer this discount as my potential claim is substantial... After speaking to her boss!

Is the information she is telling me correct? Did they really add a type of PPI via the high interest rate.

She is phoning me back this Thursday evening.

All answers and comments welcome please.

Kind Regards
Mark

Dont touch them with a barge pole,

Anything like this you can do yourself if you have PPi and a reason for being miss sold.
If indeed as you say, you dont have ppi then obviously you cant.

The extra charges are interest, she really does think you are stupid enought to believe her.

    Minstry of justice indeed!!!!

These people will tell you anything to get an up front fee.

I get at least 2 of this sort of call a day.

That is a lie and a breach of ministry of justice guidelines. You have grounds for complaint against this claims company.
She said I needed to pay their fee £299 upfront for them to start. Then she knocked it down to £100+VAT when I said I could not pay and then down to £50+VAT when I said I still could not pay that.

Its starting to sound like advance fee fraud (tell lies about some big pay off for you and once hooked, they say all you need to do is pay a small amount up front).
She was able to offer this discount as my potential claim is substantial... After speaking to her boss!

Classic car sale trick. Make you think you are getting something special as you are lucky.

  • Hi

Thank you for all the helpful replies.

I thought it sounded too good to be true, that's why I told her to phone back as I wanted some time to check her comments out first.

Glad I did now, as I was really tempted to go along with her...considering the high amount I apparently could get back!!!

    Thank you all again.

    Kind Regards
    Mark
