credit cards

hiya all
am a newby to here, but am hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction.
i recently got an equifax report on my finances and noticed a number of credit cards, which i have paid off. i can remember having the dreaded "ppi" payments on them as they were just there and never took much notice:(. anyway, been hearing about the claims that can be made on them and have been looking at different companies, but decided to have a go myself.
like i say, the cards have been paid off, some as long ago as 2008 and just wondered how i go about claiming. i cant find any records of the cards or insurance, just the equifax report with the company names. can anyone point me in the right direction as to how i go about claiming? looked at a few posts on here, but could do with it in plain english:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
many thanks
neil
