London travelcard top tip

Not sure if this has been posted before - but if you live in London (or are visiting) and you buy a Zone 2&3 travelcard (or for that matter any that IS NOT with zone 1) you *can* use the buses throughout zone 1 because the bus zones were all collapsed into one about a year or 18 months ago.
So for example, I buy a 2&3 monthly card, and when I need to travel into central London and I have enough time, I simply get the tube from my stop in zone 3 to the closest zone 2 stop and then get the bus from there.
Happy travelling!

Why would anyone buy a Zone 2-3 travelcard if they are a visitor to London? 99% of what people want to see is in Zone 1-2
Besides ALL travelcards cover ALL of London by bus - https://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/fares-tickets/2007/visitors.asp
Another top tip BTW is that a TFL Travelcard entitles you to use https://www.2for1entry.co.uk0
