Reclaiming PPI on behalf of deceased parents?

Hi.
Unfortunately, my parents have both passed on in the last few years. I was executor for both estates and dealt with settling the finances etc.
I know both my mother and father had loans and credit cards, and was wondering if there was anything preventing me from writing to the lenders to enquire about reclaiming any PPI sold on these loans?
I recently put in a claim for myself which was successful, and was as simple as ringing the lender. I guess that with dealing with deceased parents' accounts, I would be better writing including a copy of probate, but is there a reason why the banks wouldn't settle in this case?
Many thanks for any advice.

The executor of the estate can put a complaint in if they wish. Obviously, the complaint is limited in reasons that can be given. You can't use verbal allegations (not that they have much success anyway by themselves). You can only rely on actual technical failingsI am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
