Sky tv service charge

Hi

I changed to Sky in 2010 from Virgin Media because I wanted to use O2 for my broadband and therefore needed to go back to BT for my phone. I now have my mobile, broadband and home phone with O2.

I keep getting phone calls telling me to pay £96 to cover my Sky Tv box and equipment in case it goes wrong. I thought it a scam but have phoned Sky and been told that they only cover their equipment for a year.

Surely if you are paying a monthly contract you would expect the equipment hired to be serviced and replaced free of charge if it went wrong?

Please can someone advise me about this or make any suggestions?

Thanks

You are confusing Sky with VM. Sky give you the equipment so you own it from day one with a one year warranty. VM rent you the equipment.
