in Cutting tax
ive just worked out my 1st form p87 claim form back for tax
basically ive done 13,386 miles in my own car for my job,my work have re-embursed me 1,550.30 back so the diff is 3796.20
i know i have to get a self assesment form as the value im claiming is more than 2,500 ( the max amount for a p87 form)
question
is the amount 3796.20 the amount paid back to me by the tax man
i know their is a lower amount calculated for miles over 10,000
i have done the calculation to incorporate this
Thier are a few other saundry items i have had to buy for my job amounting to 365.00
do i get the 365.00 back aswell or just the tax element on it
thanks in advance

You get the tax relief on £3796.20. So either 20% or 40% of it depending on how much you earned. Same thing goes for the other expenses.:)0
